The nature of our business is very much built to order motorcycles, however a penchant for the first model G/S has resulted in many rolling through the shop each year, call it an occupational hazard. In fact, over the last 3 years we’ve taken 18 of them to market. Let’s just say we know them well.
The bike has just received a major service including change of all fluids, carbs rebuilt, front fork rebuild, valve adjustment, timing set, carbs synchronized. New fuel taps and strainers were installed along with new fuel lines throughout. The brake lines were flushed and renewed with dot 5 brake fluid.
This is a triple numbers matching R80G/S and is available immediately.
With regards to comments on the bike, not only is it triple numbers matching, ie, frame, frame tag and engine; the bike also retains its correct numbered carburetors and final drive. Other points to include would be oem hand guards, original fork brace and sought after auxiliary tachometer. The original Paris Dakar kit was offered by the factory including the Gas tank, solo seat, luggage rack and the very rare chrome muffler with heat shield.
Included in the sale is a set of factory panniers which are G/S specific, one side being slimmer than the other to facilitate mounting over the muffler. The racks have been freshly powdercoated along with the subframe installed on the bike.
We haven’t rebuilt the engine, it runs great, doesn’t smoke and runs strong through all the gears.
